I can't believe she sought inspiration from such obscure sources as The Cure and Siouxie Sioux. AND Dracula? This is the inspired mind fashion has been thirsting for.

peaches looks like her father's daughter.

did you read the rest of that nyt article about sjp's voice over?

"This helps open up the museum through fashion," said Andrew Bolton, a Costume Institute curator. "And I love her voice. It's so melodic and also accessible."

Can we now expect PETA to be having a pop at Eric Clapton? Or is it still only the lady slebs they like to pick on?

I think we need to begin referring to this girl as Peaches G. Because every damn time I see the name Peaches I automatically think it's Peaches the singer. And then I get pissed that you all are taking smack. Then I realize it's NOT Peaches the singer.

This is far too much unnecessary brain activity for me.

@Archetype: Also, the song "Millions of peaches..." has become sort of nightmarish, and rather prescient given all the wannabe-Peaches(es) around the place.

I LOVE Alice + Olivia. I splurge on their dresses for special events. Which is....almost never.

Williamson for H&M? I am THERE.

I think it's safe to assume that 85% of the apparel we consume has some ickiness on it, unfortunately. So long as we want cheap shit it's the reality. Not that a lot of expensive shit isn't made in the same factories, but still.

@Archetype: I try to pay attention to labels so I know where items are made, but it doesn't seem to make much difference. Even clothing made in the US isn't necessarily manufactured by well paid, insured employees.

But I do balk at the idea of shopping at Steve and Barry's. The prices are just too damn low to be good for my conscience.

@Jessi Ramsey: Agreed, I would love to see this. Especially considering the economy, it would be a great vocational program for people out of high school. As it is most people want to go to fashion school to get into.....fashion.

@swashbuckling: Also, it's important to remember that there are MANY loopholes to labeling laws in regard to apparel. It can be largely made in, say, Mexico, shipped over into the states and have an embellishment (or sometimes even just the label) attached and its COO may be named as "USA."

There may have been some reforms to this in recent years but none that I have heard of.

@TheFormerJuneBronson: Yes exactly. I think America should be focusing on industries that are now cratering to people who want everything NOW,NOW,NOW! Another good example this is the building of McMansions.

@Jessi Ramsey: Husband and I are headed back to our parents' for the holiday tomorrow and they live in the midst of that late-90's/early 00's development (granted, neither side lives in one of those houses). Every time we go to visit, we see tons of those signs advertising the next new development and now we're filled with the urge to tack on "BAD IDEA" to every one we see.

@Archetype: Love alice+olivia too--great silhouettes with just enough quirk to stay interesting, without being too trendy.

Marc Jacobs has designed a stroller.

Just as Peaches Geldof should not be designing clothes, I think Marc Jacobs should lay off of strollers.
