unless you have respectfully and humanely killed and skinned the animal yourself, and will be using all of its parts for things like food and weaponry, then you should not be wearing fur. if you are living in the Arctic in an igloo and you kill a seal because your family depends on its meat and skin to survive, then ok. if you are a person living in a city where you have full access to synthetic fabrics which are warmer than fur, then you should not be wearing animal hides.

@Samazon: Those items aren't comparable. I'm not denying the exploitation faced by some farm and factory workers, but I am pretty sure their jobs would never require them to be skinned alive.

Not to diminish their suffering; I agree that people should know where their purchases come from and strive to make ethical choices, but being skinned alive is in an oppression class all its own.

- I hate PETA will all my forces. As Samazon pointed out, what they do isn't protesting, it's assault. People who use fur aren't commiting any crime, this is not forbidden by law. They have they right to wear fur if they want to. PETA should try to educate those people with civility instead of using those aggressive and intolerable methods. When you act this way, you're not right anymore.

- Poor Olivier. I love him. He'll find a job somewhere else, hopefully.

- Call me crazy, but, isn't this Freida Pinto achieving too much for a chick who showed up yesterday? She's pretty, right, but, 6 months ago, no one knew who she was. And, apart from her looks, she has little to offer, apparently.

She's very popular and people know her everywhere now and she made like, one movie. I'm trying to point out that her success happened way too fast, even for Hollywood standards.
