The girl with the whistle is making my ovaries weep. And yaaaay for the pic of my beloved alma mater Howard University! Might have to order that and put it on the wall under my framed 10x11 pic of Barack!
I saw an "Instant Dress" at the mall today for $120! WTF? And this was in Brooklyn! I've seen them in the city for more than that. I remember when you could get one on an infomercial for like, $19.95 as the "Infinite Dress". I'm getting a pattern and making one my damn self.

My house was built in 1971 and we still have the original avocado green oven and stove top, LOL.

Germaine Greer was my hero. Fashions WERE somewhat hideous and I seem to remember the popularity of avocado green and shades of orange for interior decorating. I guess I grew up with too much of that stuff because I cannot bear for either of those shades to be used in my home or office. Ever.
I lived in Santa Fe for 5 years in the early 80's and the turquoise pictured is typical of what is still available there. Dodai, you need to take a road trip! But don't go there in October when they do the "Indian Market" - the markup is totally outrageous and you'll pay 10 to 20 times more than at other times of the year. They mark it up because the Texans would come over for the event and wouldn't think an article was worth buying unless it was hideously overpriced.
Don't shoot me, Texas Jezzies! No hate here, just statin' fact....
