    I love watching Whatever, Martha! because I'm now convinced MS went through her archives and had many WTF moments with regards to the guests she would bring onto the show. To wit: on a recent episode they watch a segment with a guy who--no lie--collects twine. Another guest showed us all how to properly wash dishes, and another made handbags out of expensive cigar boxes--it boggles the mind how random these people are!
    But she can't just make fun of them herself--it would clash with the personality she's created--so who better to do it for you than your famously caustic daughter?

    Yeah, it seems to me that Martha is letting Alexis make fun of her just to show her that she's worthy of her daughters attention. I dunno. I am sure she was put through the ringer when she was a child - can you imagine having MARTHA STEWART as your mother? But still. Creating an entire series devoted to the ripping of your mothers arsehole while she pays for the production seems really...mean.

    Her show is actually titled "Whatever, Martha"? Isn't that the exact same thing as "God, Mom, you are SO stupid!!!" Why couldn't she just call it that? Oh, nevermind, I know. Because adding the necessary *eyeroll* part would make it too long and then no one would watch it. Silly me.
    Srsly? I get that not everyone gets to have a wonderful mom. But this lady needs to get over it and grow the hell up. Imagine! If this was your own grown-ass daughter, wouldn't you just want to slap the bejesus out of her and tell her to stop fucking pouting already?

    Can someone give me a round up of all the crazy things Shia has said about his childhood?


    -Saw his parents have sex
    -Was forced to dress up as a clown
    -Jerked off while spying on Cameron Diaz and Drew Barrymore on the set of Charlie's Angels (really not that fucked up, but part of the larger picture)


    I really think he should get in touch with a mental health professional instead of all these journalists.

    I can't believe Kendra is pregnant...I do like her, but anyone who's ever watched "The Girls Next Door" knows that she comes off intensely ill-prepared to have a baby, no matter how much she "matured" by the end of the show. The way she used to freak out at..well, anything...in her good-natured frustration does sort of create endless opportunities for her new TV show, though, I guess! Something tell me Kendra's mom will be moving in with them ASAP.

    There are actually a whole bunch of Mary days. August 15th is the day you go swimming for Mary, back in May was the day where Mary gets her crown. There are a whole bunch in Latino cultures that I can't even remember. If Madonna was really banned from singing on a feast day of the Virgin Mary she'd pretty much have to stop singing.

    @brendastarlet is on it: August 15th is the assumption, which in some areas has a connection to healing waters, thus a tradition of swimming on the assumption.
