@lestylegirl: Speaking as the child of divorced parents, it's often better to have two people who no longer wish to be married to each other (and in some cases, who actively dislike each other) to be apart. Children are acutely aware of that kind of tensions. Still, it is upsetting for the kids, to be sure.

@BabyJane: I agree, I'm also a child of divorced parents, and I thought it was ok they did it (I was 8 at that time) cause at least I knew where their relationship stood. I don't know sometimes uncertainty and bickering is worse than actual honesty and a clean break.

Btw, my parents had the most amicable divorce ever, so I'm speaking from that experience.

@Ailatan Hearts BabyJane: I was ten. Both my mum and dad remarried and, honestly, had happier second marriages than when they were married to each other. My brother and I were very fortunate that they always put us first and, no matter how they felt about each other. Neither one ever said a bad word to us about the other.

Neither one of my parents married for the second time, now that I'm much older I wish they had. I'm an only child so there is basically no one but me to spoil.

I believe that a break up is always difficult, but there has to be at least some level of respect and caring (if not love, at least for your past relationship) to try and say good things about your ex partner.

So we know networks pull "bait and switches" with their advertising all the time, because it leads to publicity before and after the special. IE: "They have a special announcement! I bet they're getting divorced!" [episode airs] "I can't believe they're not getting divorced! We, in the media, cannot stop talking about it!" So in that vein, what do you think the announcement REALLY is?

-They're adding a sister-wife.
-One of the children is adopted. We won't tell you which one.
-Kate IS pregnant again, but they're getting an abortion this time. On camera.
-They have decided to give up material possessions, move to Wyoming and live like wolves. This may mean eating their young, they're not really sure yet.

@RisaPlata: You forgot the old long-running sitcom standby, add a younger kid to the established family in an attempt to breath life into a dying show. It never works in the way intended, but it is a key plot device meant to indicate to anyone still watching, who may have been wondering if the show had jumped the shark yet, would then be certain of it.

Y'know, I think Pattinson seems like a nice kid - I think his take on the Twilight books is just hilarious, and he doesn't seem to actively be a jerk to anyone. He slouches around, with some calculated insouciance probably, and thinks that Stephenie Meyer and her fans are sort of nutters. I'm okay with R-pattz. No, he doesn't make my panties melt off, but he seems like the kinda guy I'd have a beer with.

That said: HEY, RABID FANS, YOU GUYS, HE IS NOT EDWARD. Nor is he Cedric. He's just an actor. He's not going to have OMG VAMPIRE BABIES with Kristen Stewart for your amusement, and he's not going to turn into a sparkly undead if you manage to get him hit by a car. Dear god.

@Ailatan Hearts BabyJane: Let's be realistic here. Men can be abused, too, by women. It's not as common and it's usually not as violent, but it occurs, and domestic violence shouldn't be dismissed just because the victim is male. But that doesn't seem to te the case with John and Kate.

Nagging isn't really abusive unless it's taken to extremes. From what I've seen, Kate may nag a lot, but if it were a husband doing it to his wife, it would be "oh, he's just giving advice. It's natural for men to give advice!" Advice from women=naggging. Advice from men=advice. Double standards suck.

@moonybattyjuicey: i don't know, i have a problem with that logic. he didn't choose to have 8 bebehs and it ended up being a windfall for both of them (for the kids, not so much, at least emotionally). and no one deserves to be mistreated by another person regardless of what may or may have come out of their body. my dude had a medical condition for 8 months and had to have surgery for that - did that give him a right to be a jerk to me? i'm sorry but that is ridiculous logic. this goes up there with the horribly, horribly misplaced pervasive thought in our society that leaves women "expecting" to receive a birth present from their partners. what every happened to being happy to have someone's child? or a healthy child to begin with? if that dude was such a jerk that being pregnant with his bebehs was so horrible you probably shouldn't have had any kids with them in the first place. not EVERYONE has to procreate, you know?

Ughh, the Kendra quote makes me sad. I remember the GND ep where Hef tells the girls they'll be doing an editorial for the magazine and Kendra tells him "I'll look really good, I won't eat for a week!" Hef seemed so confused and was like "no, uhhh, eat honey" and I thought, that guy has no idea what women put themselves through to fit the image of his magazine.

@MizJenkins: From what I understand when he came out initially, it was very public (outed by the tabloids) and Chaz has been a prominent figure in the LGBT rights community for many years. So, as a high-profile advocate who has experienced being unwillingly outed, I can understand why he'd want to get an announcement out of the way and then request respect for his privacy.
