Ignore them and bask in their irrelevance.

But the makeup people may be the worst of all. I'm pretty sure they poached them from a funeral home. The foundations are often horribly caked on, but at other times you find yourself thinking, "Hey, does Lawrence O'Donnell have leprosy?" when only odd patches of his face are that lovely orange color they love. They clearly have exactly three shades of foundation: light orange, dark orange and chocolate brown. That means Alison gets the same shade every other person too dark for the dark orange gets, that heinous flat medium brown (the orange lighting gels don't help -- pinks and lavenders are best for medium to dark skin tones). At least she's not being forced to wear the false eyelashes like Rachel.

And now I'm scarred for life. I wish they'd just let her put her damn glasses on, for real.

Also, it frustrates me whenever the media refers to what the car companies want as a "bailout". They are looking for a bridge loan. I may be drinking the Kool Aid here in my cozy little Detroit suburb, but what I've read is that the car companies really do believe in their restructuring plans, and just need some money to get through this time period where no one can get a loan to buy a new car. I'm not entirely gullible- I know they've said this before, and I sort of understand why people want to let them fail. But it would be devastating to Detroit and the surrounding suburbs, and eventually it would affect everyone. Part of me thinks that the timing is wrong- I wonder how much of a controversy this would have been if this had happened before all of the other bailouts of AIG and Bear Stearns.

This is why I'm not in charge of these decisions, though. I like to make moral judgments about things that require more sophisticated economic analysis.

What is the actual truth on 'launching his career'? I mean, when Obama would've started campaigning, William Ayers was a respected professor who had connections in Chicago. It doesn't sound off-base if Obama's first campaign event was there, but you know, I'd just like to think that someone knows the "truth" and isn't afraid to talk about it.

I wonder if you can track trust-structures by exploring the propagation of outdated insults...
