Call me what you want, but that chocolate special K commercial is racist. Where the woman wants a bowl of chocolate ice cream and a "soulful" voice is trying to convince her to give in. I hate that shit. If it were vanilla ice cream would Bill Gates do the voiceover?
I just bought some special K bars. They have pretzels and chocolate inside of them. Special K makes a good cereal bar if you just want a quick snack, some of the other ones are so sweet they feel worse than candy bars in my mouth.
What's gross, the "before" girl is a skinny size 00 already.
I know it's horrendous to point out all the OMG FAT ROLLS *exasperated sigh while pinching sides* on women of size, but I find it downright criminal telling women a 100 lbs girl is supposedly in need of losing weight because she's FATTY FAT FAT.
Anyone heard the Subway radio commercials about "Keep your beaches beautiful" by dieting with Subway? I think that's the current champion for offensive.
@Encouraging Referee Pitman: No but it was probably created by the guy who gave my commencement speech from design school. He created the "Jared" campaign from subway, and the whole speech was basically about how great he was and how he's gotten fired 15 times and every time was because the other person couldn't handle his awesomeness.
Also, I would like to reiterate my hatred for food advertising that encourages women to be "bad", "good", "bad but really good", "naughty", "sinful" or whatever. It's like eating is the new sleeping with that dude you really shouldn't.
you know what may be better for you and less calories than cardboard and sugar? An egg and toast. Protein, whole wheat and (gasp) some fat...crazy I know.
The special k stuff makes me batshit crazy. Not because i ever bought into it (ahem) but because is sugar and refined carbs just set you up for failure.
Oh well, maybe I could just pound down the fiber supplemtents that are obviously hawked as weight loss aids to make myself full.
@nawanda: Seriously, I hardly ever have anything else for breakfast. If I'm really starving, 2 eggs, 2 slices of high-fibre bread and a little bit of salsa to make a fried egg sandwich. So filling.
@nawanda: I always feel a little queasy when I eat too early and end skipping breakfast a lot of the time. I'm trying to eat a better though and have started with an egg and toast in the morning. More often than not I'm putting Nutella on my toast, though, which I'm afraid defeats the purpose. Ah, well.
This will sound kind of weird, but I think this is what I needed to read. I've kind of been headed to relapse territory the past few weeks, and this reminded me of everything I hate about dieting. I need to snap out of it before I'm too far in again to get myself out.
I tried the strawberry kind of cereal once, and no thanks. I would rather have my delicious bowl of oatmeal with real fruit and honey. It actually gets me to lunch and is way better.

Whole grains, fruit, veggies, protein, unsaturated fats! All are a waaay better way to lose weight than going on some crazy diet.
Also, as far as the nonfat shit goes. 20-30% of your calories SHOULD BE FAT.

So their diet is actually how I would prefer to eat everyday for the rest of my life. However, I fear scurvy and other nutritional deficiencies.
