I don't believe anyone's posted this here yet (I looked through the comments and didn't see, but it's wholly possible I missed it)--nobody does 80's nostalgia like Robin Sparkles:
Mafalda, were the tiny floral dresses and Suri haircut standard-issue for wee ones near the border when we were bitty? Because until I noticed the brown eyes, I was shocked to see that someone sent in a picture of me.
Also, I'm dying over here. I should know not to look at these at work!
@hellosunshine: Maybe it was some sort of secret toddler dresscode for kids in and near Texas. You know, so no one would feel left out of the embarrassment/cuteness!
I am laughing my ass off! I wish I had some of my 80's pics on the computer.
My mom still has framed a school picture of me with the laser background. My hair is so big that it is cut off by the edge of the photo.
I also have one of my best friend and I before our first concert (Def Leppard) and I am wearing a black shirt with some kind of netting in place of sleeves/midriff. Good times.
Meaghan: I had those exact bike shorts (with the green panel on one side and the neon pink panel on the other). I lived in those! (with matching Nike high tops with neon pink swoosh, naturally).
Troubleonwheels, I would have been begging you for your hair-heightening secrets back then. AquaNet alone couldn't have taken credit for that -- you had some skill! (I believe I also borrowed that exact same jacket from my friend back in the day...)
@squirrelcop: Squirrelcop! That gravity-defying do was achieved with plenty of Aquanet and backcombing, plus a (I kid you not) homemade gelatin goop recipe picked up from be-mohawked friends.
...Not to mention I have hedgehog hair to begin with. And Lordy: that jacket is SO Contempo Casuals!
@TroubleonWheels: Ok, now I truly bow before you as my experiments with "gelatin goop" as hair product only ever resulted in the need to cover up with a very large hat.
thecameralovesyou...I think i saw 4 hipsters wearing that puffy red striped coat at Trader Joes this past weekend. You were WAY ahead of your time... :)

I'm actually dating the girl in the prom photo now.
My sister has been digging through humiliating family photos and posting them occasionally on Facebook.

"This was one of my favorite outfits: An oversized "queen of hearts" sweatshirt and shiny electric blue spandex leggings. I'm fairly sure I was wearing pink high top sneakers, too."

My brother called them my "King's Quest" pants because the little character in the PC game had pants the same color.
