    I think that violence has kind of a weird, tenuous relationship with sex, and it's fashion's favorite transgression.

    I find some imagery more shocking than others, but I tend to have a more loose relationship with this sort of thing, that I don't try to justify or explain.

    Images #8-10 I remember seeing recently, and I didn't really gather than she was dead. The more straight forward shots like #1-3 are, quite simply, dumb. I always hated that Jimmy Choo advert. It's obvious to the point of caricature, which makes it even more offensive. #7 is pretty bothersome. #11 is just fucking sexy. #deadmodels

    @Penny: Have you seen Spike Jonze's music video for Kanye West's Flashing Lights? I'm linking to it here (not embedding) because it's extremely NSFW but I think it is one of the best examples of pop culture and fashion's combination of sex and fashion. The video has disturbed me ever since I have seen it.

    @kellybones: Had to watch that! I actually really don't like West, I think he's pretty talentless. I need to sit on that video for a bit. Lots to soak in, especially how she stripped down before killing him, further solidifying the death-violence-sex thing. #deadmodels

    Kinda off-topic, but to add insult to injury.. the model in #11 would probably be considered a "plus-sized" model nowadays.. and that pic is relatively recent (early 90s) *sighs* #deadmodels

    @Kali Mama: I had a friend who had breast implants about 5 years ago and her scarring looked exactly like this. A straight line down from the nipple. It certainly could have been a reduction too, I guess. I also wonder why they decided to not use a pastry on her, but did on the rest of the models.

    #11 is gorgeous. I might not wear it every week. But, I'd wear at least once a month for years to come.
    And I love the models.
    Is this the first time that actual plus sized women (not that they are exceptionally plus sized) have been on the runway? As opposed to the usual Size 4 and 6' tall "plus size" models?

    @fluxus flucker: I don't think so, since Plus Size lines put on shows, they just are not usually "high fashion" lines; L. Bryant does shows, as I am sure other lines do, but you don't see LB in fashion mags next to D+G, Gucci, Burberry, Proenza Schouler, Marc Jacobs, etc.etc.etc. This seems to be trying to break out of the mall-market as a more "boutique" line.

    I think some of these are nice (1,2,8,11) but most still look a little Chico's to me style-wise, though I bet they have nice fabrics and construction.

    Sui had recreated her 60's Detroit childhood, and mine! Look #11 is straight outta the 4th of July BBQ in 1969. Most of the headscarves, though, had pink foam rollers under them. And the ladies all smelled like Dippity Do and Aquanet!

    I love the blue, green, and brown shades that I keep seeing for the upcoming season. And I'm in total agreement with #11: if you're wearing a panty in public, it's nice to have a vest to take it a bit more to the formal side.
