Another celebrity has jumped on the lifestyle website train, but instead of peddling ribbon-wrapped twigs, napkins embroidered with southern sayings and artisan barbecue sauce, it will be all about weed. And who might this new cannabis-themed platform be courtesy of? Snoop Dogg, of course.

At TechCrunch Disrupt, Snoop announced his new venture: Merry Jane. The media site will feature both editorial and video content, with updates on legalization, info on accessories and even business tips. There will also be a database similar to Leafly, which provides info on different strains of marijuana. Users can also be connected to local dispensaries after learning which strain might work best work for them.

From TechCrunch:

The site will have its own show series, each of which focusing on different aspects of pot as it relates to lifestyle. This ranges from a cooking show, where folks can learn how to make amazing edibles (or food that pairs well with cannabis consumption), to ‘Deflowered’ (which is a show that focuses on peoples’ “first time” doing something), all the way to exclusive celebrity interviews. Snoop noted that the site will be enlisting celebrities that are “down with the team” including Seth Rogen and Miley Cyrus.

Merry Jane also aims to educate the public on the health benefits of medical marijuana. During Snoop’s talk, a clip from “Deflowered” was shown in which two military veterans discuss how cannabis helped them deal with PTSD after returning from war.

The website is currently in beta and will be open to the public in the next coming weeks.
