See Gwyneth Paltrow Rap "Straight Out Of Compton"

Latest

On a recent episode of the Graham Norton Show, Lady Gaga appears in a goth Miss Havisham ensemble and discusses telling her grandma why she said “I have a pretty tremendous dick” during her HBO concert. That isn’t the weird part.

Once Gwyneth Paltrow mentioned in Interview that she knows all the words to “Straight Out of Compton,” it was only a matter of time before she’d have to prove herself in a public forum. That day has come.

New York magazine has helpfully listed all of the clip’s highlights, so if you aren’t interested in watching Gwyneth produce a pan of vegetarian paella from under the couch, just skip to her rendition of “Gangsta Gangsta” at 6:22. Should she rap during her next Glee appearance? God, no. (That goes double for Mr. Schue.) But she deserves credit for putting her slur-laden rap where her mouth is, rather than suddenly becoming as shy as a Kardashian on stage at a Prince concert. (Even though the rapping was definitely planned out with producers beforehand.)

As if this wasn’t enough celebrity weirdness for one segment, Gwyneth and Gaga go on to banter about the proper use of the word “cunt” and the time Gwynnie split the crotch of her pants. Sample:

Gwyneth: I went to a premiere of a friend’s movie and I was wearing this pair of pink suede pants …. it was the ’90s.
Gaga: Don’t apologize to me about pink suede pants.

Oh yeah. Geoffrey Rush and Jason Byrne were there too.
