Republican Named Yoho Declares Tanning Bed Tax Racist Against Whites

Latest

Ted Yoho is a former large animal veterinarian from Florida who doesn’t understand what racism is. That alone does not make Ted Yoho interesting. What makes Ted Yoho interesting is the fact that he is a United States Congressman who doesn’t understand what racism is, to the extent that he believes a tax on tanning beds is racist against white people because only white people use tanning beds.

Not Knowing What Racism Is is a proud Republican tradition dating back at least as far as the moment I remember reaching an age of political semi-awareness and has only become more interwoven in the American conservative identity in recent years, when a racist’s customary response to being called “racist” is to act like it’s worse than being the victim of actual racism.

Anyway, here’s Ted Yoho demonstrating that he’d flunk college by declaring Obamacare’s proposed 10% tanning bed tax racist against white people, via NBC,

“I had an Indian doctor in our office the other day, very dark skin, with two non-dark skin people, and I asked this to him, I said, ‘Have you ever been to a tanning booth?’ and he goes, ‘No, no need.’ So therefore it’s a racist tax and I thought I might need to get to a sun tanning booth so I can come out and say I’ve been disenfranchised because I got taxed because of the color of my skin.”
“As crazy as that sounds, that’s what the left does, right? By God, if it works for them, it’ll work for us.”

(bangs head against statue of Malcolm X).
