Pro-Choice Campaign Glitterbombs Nebraska Congressman

Latest

Earlier this week, a pro-choice group calling themselves “Glitter Bombs for Choice” glitter bombed the Lincoln office of Nebraska congressman Jeff Fortenberry.

Via the Guardian:

“Congrats!” read a note on “Glitter Bombs for Choice” letterhead included with the glitter. “You’ve earned this for trying to deny women their right to choice. Mind your own uterus. Love, GBFC.”

Fortenberry has served in the House for nearly a decade and has been a vocal critic of the “abortion industry.” He was also one of the 250 House members who recently “voted to ban subsidies for health insurance that could be used to cover abortion in case of a threat to the mother’s health.”

Fortenberry wasn’t amused by the glitter bomb. He said in a statement:

“Anyone is free to disagree with me, but to resort to these tactics in a heightened threat environment is reckless and a waste of precious law enforcement resources.”

No worries, though Fortenberry was spared the injustice of the glitter bomb – he was in his DC office at the time of the sparkly explosion. His office reported the glitter-bomb to nearly every police force available including, the Capitol police, Nebraska State Patrol, the US postal inspector, and the FBI.

Fortenberry he joins the hallowed ranks of other Republicans who’ve been glitter-bombed including Tim Pawlenty (remember him?), the always fun, Rick Santorum, and perfectly-coiffed Mitt Romney.
