Thomas Beatie, who made headlines last week as the first man to become pregnant, sat down with Oprah today to discuss his condition. Beatie, an FTM, has been legally married to his wife Nancy for five years, and the couple wanted a child together. (Nancy had a hysterectomy due to endometriosis some 20 years ago, and is unable to get pregnant.) Other than the fact that Beatie has had gender identity issues, and is now a pregnant man, he and Nancy seem like a completely normal couple, and not the weirdo hoaxsters portrayed by the media for the past week and a half.
