    This was my 8th grade class picture, taken for both my ID and my lunch pass at my junior high school in Northern California. A year after this was taken I grew my hair out and stopped using curl activator, much to my hairdresser Cecil's chagrin. I remember that the shirt was Esprit and that the earrings hurt. But what hurts the most, even after all these years, is that greasy hair and inner-eyelid bright blue eyeliner."
