    "The year was 1981. The hair cut was the "Princess Diana" (got it down at the JCPenney salon.) The dress was a Gunne Sax by Jessica McClintock (you can't see them in this picture, but I'm wearing dark blue Famolare shoes.) I had to beg my mom for that dress, promising to clean my room, unload the dish washer, and set the table whenever she asked. (sucker! I used the exact same promise to get some A.Smile overalls and a pair of Nikes).
