Joran Van der Sloot has just been sentenced to 28 years in a Peruvian prison for the murder of Stephany Flores. He was also fined $74,000. Peru doesn't have the death penalty or life sentences, and Van der Sloot may have lessened his sentence (prosecutors were reportedly seeking 30 years) by offering a "sincere confession" ("I feel very bad") earlier this week. With good behavior, Van der Sloot could be out in 14 years.
