Perry-Swift Feud Escalates: Katy Perry Registers Song Titled '1984'

Latest

The Katy Perry-Taylor Swift feud is undoubtedly the feud of our century; the two just can’t stop throwing jabs at each other. First, there was some bad subtweeting about stealing a backup dancer (Winner: Swift). Then, that whole John Mayer episode (Winner: Neither). Some more subtweeting with Mean Girl references (Winner: Perry). And finally Swift’s most meaningful victory of the feud: the “Bad Blood” video, a not-so-subtle knock at Perry.

But Perry isn’t one to go down without a fight (or “Roar” if you will). According music publishing site BMI, Katy Perry has registered a song titled 1984. Us Weekly speculates that the song is a “response to Swift’s hit track ‘Bad Blood’ off her fifth studio album 1989.” Needless to say Swifties are flipping out online, declaring Perry’s decision epic shade.

Your move, Swift.
