@karenwog: the job market does suck here. it's kind of outrageous. my friend works at a design firm in se portland and they recently had an opening for a receptionist -- 700 (that's right, seven hundred) people applied. gross. i have to get out of here! i've worked too hard to take another shitty job here!

New York City ladies:
So, I've decided I am moving to NYC in June, from Portland, OR. I've got a lot of friends there to crash with, etc... but very little money and will need a quick job to pay the bills till something awesome comes along (though maybe that'll happen fast?). Anybody got any recommendations for where I might look for quick work? Temp agencies, or things like that. Am I screwed?
