I subscribed to the GOOP newsletter for the exact same reason. It's wonderful.
You shouldn't use soap on cast iron. You probably are washing off the seasoning. I always sprinkle mine with kosher salt, let it sit awhile to absorb any grease, then wipe it out with REALLY hot water. If I need to scrub it, I just use more salt and a paper towel.

As far as seasoning goes, I agree with the people who say 500 degrees is too hot. I'd say use a regular vegetable oil or Crisco, put it in a 400 degree oven upside down for about an hour, then turn the oven off and let the pan cool completely. (If you do this before you go to bed, you can just leave it in the oven overnight.)

I generally HATE V Day because I'm an old spinster. But I keep seeing ads for this film that supposedly opens on V-Day, so I'm a little less grouchy about it this year. Chris Pine AND Tom Hardy??? Um, ok...

Agreed. They can both wear the hell out of a suit, can't they?
Faceless, perhaps, but this is a nice reminder of which one is McDermott...
That was glorious. Thank you!
I use the auger from my corkscrew.
Agreed on the Gaga thing, but as to #2, Dylan McDermott has ALWAYS been hot to me. I think it's the voice. And the eyes, they look so...mischievous. For me too, the face is usually more important than the body, but the picture at that link just became my new screensaver.

Yowza.
I am having a crappy, crappy day at work, and would give anything to be "awash in vodka" right now.
Baking soda and peroxide is GREAT for cleaning grout in the shower.
I just booked my Christmas flight, and I've got a 3hr layover in ATL. Thanks for letting me know about this!
I have thick, curly hair (wavy if I blowdry the hell out of it), and lived in Hotlanta for 15 years. I never used Be Curly, but I have used a couple of Aveda products that worked pretty well. One is their Brilliant ANTI-Humectant pomade. It repels humidity, so you don't get frizz. But I used this mainly when I had a pixie cut -- not when my hair was longer. And it made my hair a little crunchy. I've also used their Smooth Infusion Hair Prep Smoother. Doesn't really de-emphasize or emphasize curls one way or the other, but I use it on damp hair before letting my curls air dry, and it cut down on the frizz, and made my curls a bit looser.

Another product I love is Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom. Again, I just put on my damp hair and either air dry or blow it dry. No crunchiness, just soft curls. (Of course, I'm in California now, and don't have to deal with humidity, but, it works pretty well in the South, too.)
I love Erase Paste, too! Not too heavy-looking, but stays on all day. Even when I'm taking my glasses on and off. And their Stay Don't Stray primer fuses that shite on. I love it.
Aahhhhh -- thank you! Still seems like a lot, but glad you cleared that up for me!
I have curly hair - not really coarse, but it does get a little dry. I've been using it for about 2 months, and I like it. As a former Aveda user, I'm down with the whole "suds are bad" thing.

HOWEVER, I only use 2 pumps of the stuff, max. (My hair is above my shoulders, long-ish layers right now -- trying to get to a bob.) I know the directions say '10-15 pumps' of it every time, but that seems really crazy -- no one's hair could stand all that without become super weighed down and greasy. Plus, it would be way too expensive. Anyone else cut back on the dosage??
As someone that works retail, I can tell you that 'let me help you find your size' is usually code for: "Please stop throwing around that pile of tshirts that I spent 15 minutes folding, and will have to do all over again if you don't stop. STOP IT." I know I'm getting paid to fold them, but it's still frustrating. I can usually find it faster and without leaving a path of destruction in my wake.

And it is annoying when salespeople bring you things that are clearly not your style, but I've tried a few things I never would have on my own, because the salespeople thought the cut or color might be flattering. Sometimes you can get in a rut, you know?
Carolyn...is that you??
I was thinking the same thing. Not body-snarking, just...that's a real difference from the other pictures. Maybe it's a weird angle or Photoshopped or something.
