So, I'm a few days late on this, but I just wanted to thank you for your awesome comments on the whole hijab-wearing issue that rose in the thread on the little girl from Yemen. I was the person who originally posted about secretly loving the hijab, and then got all jumped on (which I didn't realize until I came back two days later and looked at the whole thread). Your comments were really well worded, and strong. I, too, think there is danger in becoming so politically correct that the tightness of our panties cuts off dear, dear circulation. So thanks!

I know it wasn't necessarily directed at me, but thanks for your sensitive comments. You get it. Lately I've been trying to make changes in my life and everything I do fails spectacularly. One of my friends told me an Irish saying that was pretty germane--"there is no flood that doesn't recede"--but it's hard to remember that when you're in the midst of it all.
