"@lalaland13: I know that feeling, as I'm sure that I've been that guy at some point that I'm kind of oblivious. I think it's sort of an ugly duckling syndrome, where when you're so used to not getting any of that kind of attention, of women who just want to be friends when you do ask them out that you start to just not pick up on signals and get in the sort of mentality that it's just not going to happen. It's like any other problem of self-perception, once you get into that pattern of thought you only look for confirming evidence and it takes something to jar you out of it. So I think yeah, it might take someone who's interested just pouncing and saying that it's something that they want and that they're interested in."
