I am not convinced that these alleged Winklevii were not, in fact, just Armie Hammer and a strategically placed portable full-length mirror.
Aw, thanks! I hadn't seen that. I look kind of like I'm scolding her, though. I wasn't...
The Spectacle Theater! Yes, with the screening of Frederick Wiseman's Model. The Australian was Sophie Ward. I'm so glad you enjoyed that night! I enjoyed picking the movie. Thanks :)
Hey, good for you! And thanks for the support. It might interest you to learn that an ex-model (a really great and lovely ex-model, who was in Marc Jacobs campaigns and on magazine covers and who is generally awesome) named Lisa Davies now works as an obstetric nurse. She wrote an essay for the Model Alliance Web site about the differences between working as a nurse and working as a model, from the point of view of labor standards and protections. It was interesting:

Good luck in your contract bargaining.

A nonprofit, and a community organization, not a union per se. But a nonprofit that aims to improve labor standards in the fashion industry.
Thank you! It's actually my silhouette, too, in the still frame. Strange, huh!
Having models start older is really crucial. Many of the industry's other problems — financial transparency, sexual harassment, high drop-out rates, the pressure to remain skinny — can be traced back to the preference for workers who are very young girls, not women. Age is a problem that underlies and camouflages itself behind many other issues.
Really? Where did you hear us speak? Thanks so much for your support! As a nonprofit we have an obligation to educate the public about these issues, and we take that very seriously. It's not "us" and "them"; empowering models and increasing media literacy about fashion's imagery go hand in hand.
I am also an undie-tucker-under-er. Until this moment, I thought I was alone. Welcome, friends!
First it was pennies. But then I graduated to nickels. They don't tell you about how each coin you cut breeds the need for another kind of coin. Before long, it was dimes. When they finally intervened, I was spreadeagle on a dirty mattress, trying to cut a quarter in half, screaming, "But it's got a lifetime guarantee!" After much therapy, I, my coins, and my kitchen shears have recovered.
@mnemonic: I can't tell you how gratifying it is to read about your baking! Glad this recipe is of use.
In a previous life called college, I was (the world's most incompetent) Cutco sales rep. My demo kit has proven surprisingly useful.
Inside a bread machine, it's too dark to write.

You totally got where I was going with that.

Pshaw. You say "weird, gray tinge," I say "FLAVOUR."

I've even made this recipe from sourdough starter instead of yeast; but that batch of dough, after three weeks in the fridge, was a little too much flavor even for me.

That's interesting about activating the yeast no longer being strictly necessary. I may have to try T_Beermonster's method — perhaps there is another recipe step I can eliminate here. Sugar works great in this recipe, too, for a different flavor.
