I totes agree with everything you said in the feminism and religion thread. So...kudos! That's all I have to say.

I didn't want to "echo chamber" in comments. But you're spot on about the unprofessional dress on the ESPN post. You need to dress to fit in at your workplace. When I go to meet my attorney I expect him to look like the $450/hour he charges me. I tend to sneak my "unprofessional dress" through my shoes which are usually covered by my pants.

How does this sound so far: Megan is a shy food writer for a local urban weekly. She lives in an artsy market neighborhood, with her best friend Fern, an artist. She can best be described as an Amelie with an afro, with an love for all things French and Jazz age - and anti-folk and Thomas Keller's food.

At one of Fern's shows, she meets an already coupled, very hot, young, aspiring film maker (of Hong-Kong chinese decent). The boy is sort of stuck in a rut - he lives in an minimal apartment, and has a bland girlfriend that his parents approve of (boring). But sparks fly, she introduces him to tasting menus, he introduces her to screwball comedies, and they embark on a friendship that turns into something more.

Obviously needs more of a plot than that, but a character is fleshing itself out in my head.

Well, if "bitchy" means insisting that women past the age of majority use their brains, then yes, roodles, that post was some kind of bitchy.

Anyway, as usual, the commenters on this site make me happier than the editors.

I also realized, re-reading your post, why I had the word "milquetoast" going through my head yesterday, and why I used it in several emails and posts.

Thank you for your extremely intelligent posts on Moe's second post. Brilliant!

Smart post on feminism. I completely concur.

注意 = "chuui" -- it means "beware". ^_^ It's a good one to know.

Are you actually working on your dissertation right now? I just had one of those bad "committee" days. Know what I mean?
