"@Hamtronix: As can be seen here, people have less sympathy for student loans than those who willfully bought a bunch of useless crap on their credit cards, or a home they couldn't afford (though I know the lenders are to blame for most of the latter). Many of us who had (or still have) student loans were were completely unprotected by certain conditions for the duration of the loans (especially before the implementation of government consolidation)."
