BTW, I find nothing at all creepy about sitting in a room and talking to RM's brain. I would be frightened by the awesoma powa, but I'll watch you do it.

      You were SO right! Thanks!

That dude made no freaking sense. It's like Colonel Sanders on mescaline. And I like it!

      rosasparks on Aug 15, 2008

I need more info about the sea captain Jesus man. It can't be funnier than the "farting" dude.

Hi. Only just noticed your response to the gas thing.

I live in Vermont, in an area where there is no public transportation and a fairly high poverty level as it is. People already are paycheck-to-paycheck, working poor, with no health insurance, poor nutrition, lack of heat, and simply *don't* have anywhere else to cut back should gas prices go up to whatever the hell you said it was they should.

Yes, the comfy middle and upper middle class folks might reconsider paying $6 for their bottle of Fiji water when they grab lunch at Whole Foods, and reassess their "need" for and cut back on their imported organic beeswax and French lavender pedestal candles, and buying those gladiator sandals in *every* color if those prices double and it's costing them $300 bucks to fill their Hummer's tank rather than $150, but the folks in my community (and the rest of that increasingly giant chunk of the population that isn't comfortably middle class) would be utterly devastated (think hungry, homeless, jobless, sick, and with even less access to education) by an increase like you suggested. It would unfairly fuck with the lives of the people who can least afford it, and--it bears repeating--have extremely limited options as it is and NOWHERE TO CUT BACK.

I stand by what I said. I think it was a deserved snark. Sometimes fucking the rich screws the poor even more.

It's actually the 350. I usually have a carload of 10 year-old boys and lots of athletic equipment, among other things in that truck. My son is an All-Star player, and between the beach stuff and his stuff, believe me, it's full. And quite frankly, in this town, my SUV is small. There are more giant Navigators and Hummers here than you could count - scary to be in anything smaller. It also comes in handy when travelling up to PA to visit my husband's family, or down to NC for hockey games.

I actually downsized from a full-sized Montero. Our last residence was on an island and required a 4-wheel drive - when we moved back to Virginia Beach, I got rid of the big old thing.

And when we travel around town as a family, we use my husband's little Volvo, if that makes you feel any better.

Well, I have been known while tipsy to toss dwarves. Mailboxes, actually, but anyone could make the same mistake. Either way - brace yourself.

      bigleggedwoman on Aug 4, 2008

Love your SUV comments! Quite agree. Also public transit is an option but most car owners can't see that.

      andBegorrah on Aug 4, 2008

Oh hai, Tolkien dwarf. My friends and family all agree that my celebrity look-a-like is Frodo (short, disproportionately large feet and hands, etc.) Shall we form a Fellowship of the Telling 'em to Fuck Off?

      I add you now.

      Thanking you very much.

(Seriously, you slapped that assmunch on io9 down. LOVE.)
