I get what you are saying. There was a lot of internal debate about the acronym. Sadly, they never went with my design for this scholarship.
You know what is amazing about this post is the sheer amount of Bro-boy butthurt about the fact that there is a scholarship out there that is about encouraging women to enter this field.

Yes there are scholarships out there for white men to get into this field. I know, I've found them for friends. Go look for them. Stop crying about this one you babies.

When SOE started this scholarship, it was to fulfill a need. When I worked there you could see the disparity in the amount of women who worked in the field.

When your marketing department is 70% male, that tells you there is a need. When your staff has 17 men and 3 women, there is a need.

But sure, lets listen to a bunch of players whine about this.

The words Space Prison were enough to get me to watch this movie.
That's too bad, because I really enjoyed the straightforward telling of that story.

BTW: Captain America isn't cheesy. He's idealistic. That can be hard to take, because few people can live up to that kind of idealism.

Yeah, Damn I was hoping for a pithy obit.

Hamilton, you are working on that right?

It has a face like a gibbon. Damn it's so cute.
I believe the correct response here would be ARGLEBARGLE!
$1000 a month for clothes?

Are they burning each outfit after one wear?

AAAAHHHH!!!

Didn't see that coming!

Dude, so not cool.

Dork.

You think that his guilt goes away because he wrote a post? It doesn't. You can't take away the action by writing about it. That isn't absolution.

He could write forever about this, and it won't make a lick of difference.

Also, being a bully isn't a career or a race. It is something you can mature out of. Part of it is taking responsibility for the pain you have caused others and finding ways of keeping that cycle from perpetuating.

You want to call him an asshole for something he did when he was a kid. Fine.

He wasn't your bully, though, and your book is full of stupid rules.

This is really helpful. Thank you.
Agreed, however that isn't what I was answering. The question was, why don't we elect scientists, not why don't we elect scientists who've been studying law.

I'd prefer a well rounded candidate, and have worked with enough scientist and engineers to know that the degree alone doesn't qualify them.

Yes, and once you get your science degree you are automatically qualified to do any job.
It's a time issue. I have 2 hours a month to devote to the game.
I can actually see the American Revolution moving into the French Revolution.
Jesus Ubisoft! I'm still on Brotherhood! At this rate I'll be on III when you are VII is out.
Scientists are also comfortable with saying "I Don't Know." This is a death sentence in a political campaign.
It's a fair cop. I'd say it's about the same as the people who say Nu-ku-lar, when they pronounce nuclear. I wouldn't be surprised if that ends up being the standard pronunciation in a generation.
I don't think that scientists would necessarily be the best choice. Our nation is a nation of laws. Unfortunately, what that dictates is a need for elected officials to have a deep understanding of law. Much of that can be handled with staff, however, you need the person at the top to have a good grip of the ramification of anything they wish to enact.

We could get the brightest scientist in the world to run, and he would still sound naive compared to the 20-year politician who knows nothing about science, and everything about how to grease the skids.

That being said, I am all for an educated electorate.
