Vacaville (or the V-deuce when I'm feeling ghetto) was truly terrible, but I left for the Central Coast 11 years ago and never looked back. Sometimes there are happy endings! Lucky for you only living there for three years.

@meaverly: I ended up getting the "Fresh" slow cooker book - so far have only tried one recipe, and it was ok - decent but bland. But I'll keep trying. And I'll let you know. Thanks again.

it's almost funny how defensive a lot of the commenters on this site get when vegan | vegetarianism | etc comes up. of course they've probably been verbally attacked by young vegan zealots forever, so you can almost understand their hostility. guaranteed if you asked them whether they'd be cool with making a sandwich or a pair of shoes from their cat or dog, they wouldn't be so flip! illogical. but understandable (sorta!)
