Hi, haven't seen you in a while, just wanted let you know i finally got one of those books you recommended by Ms Monning and its is great. Thanks again.
Ha! My avatar just expresses my most prevalent attitude - slightly pissed at most of the world's stupidity. I have saved a couple of other "giving the finger" photos (including Bob Weir) and may switch it out - but I just love something about that pissed little girl - even if her hair is straight!
Nah, I get it :) It's one thing to have an emotional reaction to something and another to be an asshat. I didn't take your response as a personal attack at all. Don't worry about the length, either. I've written some freakin' novels in the comments of this site before.
Enjoy the rest of your day! It sounds lovely and I'm actually a bit jealous.
Unfortch the actual definition and purpose is quite boring -- it's the plain white thingy that you can slip in behind the ties of a corset if you don't want the skin of your back showing through the ties. (or, as it turns out -- your bloomers showing)
No, thank you! It was a lot of fun. We should do it again, sometime. Let's make it a date for Constantinople. Just remember, I'll be waiting in Istanbul.
Thank you so much for your kind words. I'm often afraid I am oversharing. I'm terribly lonely and frightened. I think I'm crazy, too, but not medicated. I'm afraid to go to the doctor. I'm trying to pull out of this, but I often feel I've said the wrong thing. It's interesting to me that people I've never met--like you--can be so kind and feel so familiar. Let's do keep in touch. I have to apologize in advance, though: I get in moods where I refuse to talk. But don't worry; I'll come back.
I saved it too-- it came out just before finals, and my original plan was to finish finals and re-read the previous five before buying it, but about three hours before the reading on Monday I saw that JC was going to be in town, so I figured it was a sign.
I think I have read Karen Moning, a book about a highlander. I love fantasy/sci-fi books so thanks for the recommendations. I read more of Charlaine Harris, Kim Harrison, Katie MacAllister, and Patricia Briggs, basically books about women who kick ass and have lots of sex in the process. LHK's books were my first of that kind. Now I must look up the ladies you like so that I can be introduced to some new fantasy books, thank you.
Why hello there - I didn't realize this other netherworld of Jezebel existed, otherwise I would have responded sooner.
Yes, please keep me posted on the mood of your nation as the election approaches. I'll be sure to make pithy comments and occasionally mock your culture (but in a nice, Canadian way).
@lolacat(ΩΜ): Ok, sorry, don't mean to be bombarding you with This American Life links, but the last one I posted doesn't work any longer. This is the ep with the Beaver Trilogy in it: [www.thisamericanlife.org]
(aired 11.22.2002, ep # 226: Reruns).
Thanks for the Parrot tip, by the way. I listened to it just now and do remember that one. It was shocking to hear they live to be 80 years old (missing the original point entirely, but still...)!

Thanks for the kind words. Also, I have to admit that your choice of avatar photo is so endearing.
I loved him in Rome, and the fact that I recognized him as "that guy from Prime Suspect"

My friend met your avatar on Lot at the Studio at which she works. Sexy and very nice I am told. I am super jealous, FYI. Super. Jealous.
