The mechanics of this sounds interesting, but I'm confused about it's potential for treating HIV. Especially given HIV's high mutation rate, wouldn't targeting specific sequences be difficult? The only way I can think of around this is to target sequences that are conserved in the long run, but there are still going to be mutations. The same complication would arise in cancer too, right?
One of the horrifying aspects of this crime was that some of the women went to him because they were afraid of the protests outside of Planned Parenthood. Protesters made them so afraid that they were willing to get an abortion in conditions that seemed sketchy at best (according to the descriptions I've read). It's terrifying that even when abortion is legal, external forces can drive desperate and ultimately tragic decisions.
I know redundancy in comments is discouraged, but thanks for writing this. One of the things that scared me most when I have been scared about being pregnant is realizing that I don't have any clue about what getting an abortion would actually entail. I'm glad this is here just in case I ever I need it.
@flowersk: That was my same thought for "lifehack"

I have a lot of free time this week, so I want to learn some new recipes. I'm open to anything except recipes that require beef. Bonus points if they're vegan, just because I'd like to learn some new vegan recipes. So any suggestions, please?

@lalunedelundi: Hm, I actually didn't mind the girl-on-girl action because it did serve a purpose (I felt) towards illustrating how Nina was being seduced by this darker side of her personality and yet trying to repress it at the same time.
@penguins268: I studied abroad in Copenhagen, but while I was there, I visited London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, and Stockholm. Looking back, I'm still glad I went to Copenhagen. However, I think if I had to choose another program, I would have wanted to go to Edinburgh. The city was gorgeous and completely different from anything in the US. I think I would also consider Amsterdam and Stockholm for the same reasons (though my school didn't offer them as study abroad options). I think London would have been fun because it's a big city, but I really wanted to be someplace that felt a little less comparable to the US. Of course, I was only there for a weekend, so I don't really know enough about London to pass judgment on how similar it would have felt. Plus, as other people have mentioned, it's really easy to fly from London to pretty much everywhere in Europe.

Since I don't know the other cities, I won't pass any opinion on them. However, just make sure to take things like coursework into account if that's important. Also, things like "How easy is it to get to other cities I want to visit?" are good to take into account.

I really like Microsoft Office 2011. It's so much less jumbled than 2008. And it has a full screen writing mode in case I ever think that it will help me be free from distraction.

This post is brought to you by continued procrastination. Grad school application? What grad school application?

@crazy_lady thinks MizJenkins deserves a star!: I was surprised by how hard it was. I was in decent shape when I started, but I felt destroyed after day 1. I love it though.

@CubeRootOfPi: I know! I have such a rosy picture of teams in my head that I wanted to yell at him to not punch his national team teammates.

@Gráinne: I have to admit that as happy as I am about Barcelona, seeing Casillas, Sergio Ramas, and Xabi Alonso have a sad face makes me a little sad. I can't help my attachment to the Spanish soccer team.

@fuerzabruta: Nothing more to add, but yes, I agree.
So I decided to reattempt twitter in an effort to further my procrastination. Who are people I should follow (you can include yourself as an answer)?

@AnnaBrunette: The security lines are apparently taking a long time with all the new scanners and pat-downs and such. Plus, with all the holiday traffic, there will be a lot of people, which seems like a bad combination with the new security measures. Usually, I wouldn't go so early, but I keep hearing bad things about the holiday traffic+security stuff.
