@Roger: Not to mention the problematics of the etymology of "denigrated"
@PolkaDotsAndPolkaNots: Aaaaah!!! As someone with a produce addiction, I feel your pain. I mean, what? What are we talking about? *whistles*
@Rosa - que seria de mi?!: He also posted a really genuine and lovely response to the It Gets Better project (which I have my issues with, but Gunn just makes my heart go pitter-pat).

@girlwithapen: You want the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. Time travel, the Scottish highlands, lusty, bawdy, tear-y, etc. Best bedtime/bathroom/etc. reads.

@Pennyfeather: Yes! I hate when Finn sings, which has a mutually informing relationship to my hatred for the Finn/Rachel centering of the shows' plotlines.

@InCahoots: I was just reading a question about something similar on Metafilter - do you have a friend with lots of time/emotional resources who can be your Breakup/Grief cocaptain, helping to steer the ship of you through this storm? You don't have to do it alone.

@ladra-luna misses MizJ: Did you tell them that Dia de la Raza is in October?

@sarasasa: a) yes, but Jimi Hendrix was definitely not the first one to express the sentiment. b) It looks like a Nantucket Nectars lid to me; that company puts trivia and quotations on the lids of their juice bottles.

@whiskeyshoes: In my experience, they're usually given for the study of strategic or rare languages - so Chinese might fit the former, but not the latter. Either way, you'll have better luck if the language, or the level you want to take it at, isn't offered at your institution of primary instruction.

@thebootyfaerie: Yes! I definitely recommend their lemon-gingerbread one as well as the cookies and cream (I like to make it w/ hint-o-mint Newman Os, but almost all oreo-like sandwich cookies are actually vegan, like most shitty mass-produced snacks. As my boss used to say when I worked in the university bake shop: Butter is for rich people.)

@Cinnamoncanuck: Also Holiday Inn has blackface, which Sound of Music does not. So, wow.
I'm curious about what Warsett's former partner would have to say about their relationship, and when we're going to hear more from trans people than we do about them.
@PurplelifeheartsMizJenkins: Those are two examples that are a great start - you could get more specific within those examples to discuss how they vary for men of different socioeconomic class and race. Or you could talk about tonight's episode of Mad Men! ;) (or any episode of Mad Men, really - the performativity of masculinity is all over that show).

@MynameisMoniker: Babeland is a great resource. You might want to think a little bit about what sort of toy you want - if it's your first, you might want to think about the types of sensation that help you come w/o a toy. For example, what types of internal/external stimulation you like, or how powerful? I don't really like internal vibration and need a strong "pressure" feeling, so the hitachi is really good for me, for example. Unfortunately, you can't try before you buy, but finding out what the reviewer likes might help you think about whose reviews to look to. A former jez commenter has a ton of good resources at her blog:

@PurplelifeheartsMizJenkins: Like, the question you have to address in the paper? Or, can you be more specific?

@LoneWolfer: Already on the way - Collins is writing the adaptation herself as far as I know. Personally, much as I love the books, I find the idea to be pretty horrifying.

Couldn't disagree more about Lena Horne belonging in the In Memoriam montage - she did some of her best work playing off of Grover.
@eadubbs: I've been using wine bottles as handweights. I do second the yoga mat recommendation.

@banditalamode: Fat and crushable are not mutually exclusive. Comments like this feed into the mindset Tracie seemed to be arguing against in the post.
