Lately I've been all about Nicki Minaj and Marina and the Diamonds for cardio, but Bloc Party's first album has a lot of go-to workout songs (Like Eating Glass and This Modern Love in particular.)
@shaken.not.stirred: I think she's a writer/editor for the Huffington Post, but I don't know who he is. (Not that this is so much more specific than what's in the post.)
@Apriconjello9: Seconded-- I went to immersion school in Paris when I was fifteen and regularly got groped by complete strangers on the Metro. It exacerbated issues I already had with opening up to strangers/allowing anyone into my personal space-- apparently, nothing screams "consent" like minding your own business on the subway while looking moderately terrified.
@thequeenofstartingover: My roommates and I are going as the Spice Girls, and, while our costumes are revealing, they are so absurd as to remove any trace of sex appeal.
@queenhobart: That was one of the first things my RA said to us during first-year orientation, and my friends who are RAs currently all do the same thing. My college has a long way to go in terms of dealing with sexual violence rather than sweeping it under the rug, but I don't think they'd ever penalize rape survivors for such a minor offense when there's an obvious larger issue at hand, and I'm kind of astonished that any university would.
I feel like a lot of people on this thread are misreading this quote-- she's not saying anyone's called her an indie darling, she's saying that criticism of her music as not deep enough is relatively useless because she has made no attempts at musical depth. I don't particularly care for her or her music, she has a valid point here.
