@mgallagher713: I'm gonna go with no. I'm a 31D, and this would never work on me. That said, I also have a really short torso, so anything without good support (and no bandeau has good support) takes away space from my mid-drift, making it look like my legs come out of my tits/my tits are my stomach. If you have a really long torso, it could work though.

@veronykah: I was 21 when it happened, and honest to God, no one ever told me, even as a child, not to touch a dog you don't know, especially when his owner is standing there saying you can pet it. I'm aware I left that out of my story, but that's a huge part of it. The guy said go right ahead, he's friendly. This is exactly my point that dog owners always take the side of the dog and assume their dog is awesome.
@veronykah: My point is that no one ever ever told me you couldn't do that. ever. and that i've seen it done on multiple occasions, yes, including, stupid me! on television. how silly of me to do something no one ever says is wrong.
@Donovanesque: As someone who's been bit twice by dogs quite seriously, i really really appreciate that you put the dog down. I'm sorry you lost a beloved pet of course though.
@judgingamy: I take that back. My roommate's brother is pretty good at acknowledging his dog is a psycho and keeping him away from me.
@Future Cat Lady of America: I've never met a single dog owner who would ever say that their dog isn't good with people. They might say he gets skittish, but that's it. And these are people with dogs who have bitten. They love their dog so much they're completely blind and think their dog's perfect and/or they don't care.
I've been bit twice. Once was with a dog that was outside of a bar in 2007, and the bit me in the face. This I guess was my fault since I pet the dog face to face, but they show people doing that to dogs on TV all the time. The dog showed no sign of aggression.
The second time was a year later. I lived in a small town, and walked into my friends house. Before I got in, the dog raced up and completely mauled my thigh (I was wearing a mini-dress). This dog has bit people walking in the door on multiple occasions, including my friend's mother.
I have scars all along my thigh, on my nose, and forehead. Neither dog was put down, because the owners just shrug and are like "they were abused." I know it's a leap, but serial killers were also abused. We don't not throw them in jail just cuz they were abused.

@j. cruel: Posting the actual essay is different that posting the link (with a blurb) because having his byline in the same places as all the other writers makes it seem like he is a contributor to Jezebel (and therefore his opinions are in line with the site). There would have been a lot less reactionary comments of "WHY IS THIS ON HERE?" and more of an actual reaction to his piece because people would have had to click through to read it.
