The pure ignorance that is even associated with commenting on her looks, sex appeal and sexual past etc in relation to her assault makes me want to barf and cry simultaneously.
It's beyond despicable. This is not the type of situation to make light of. Its sad that this is the reality that many rape victims have to face when they come forward with their assault. It becomes more clear each day why so many women choose not to. I can only imagine what this must be like on a national stage.
And to all the fucktards who are trying to make this an issue of religious affiliation- you need to get a clue. Catholics, Jews, Atheists and people who identify with ANY religion have the capability to assault anyone. Get your head out of your ass and quit being such a ridiculous bigoted human being.
Ah, I hate to agree with Nancy Grace because she's pretty damn ridiculous about 99.999999% of the time, however, she hit the nail on the head with that quote.
Its a shame that it's even true. (It being the truth of that quote, not me agreeing with Nancy Grace)
This site is wonderful. It's heartwarming yet sad, funny but most importantly, incredibly honest.
I hope this site catches on quickly, and is yet another way to provide support for gay teens and teens who just "don't fit in". Reading the successful stories of these people makes any struggle seem less daunting, even for me, as a 24 yr old straight woman.
@curiousgeorgiana: This isn't a battle of who is right or wrong. I see your point of view. Maybe I'm just jaded by my family and the punishment I endured as a child, who knows?
I feel for the kid, I really do. I'm not a heartless. (I know that's not what you were trying to imply, I'm just saying)
I just think it's important to realize that the gravity of her actions is relative. You may think it's horrible, but to me, I think it could have been wayyy worse.
It came about is a roundabout way, but nevertheless, that's the point I was trying to make.
1)Carey Mulligan's BF is HOT. Love those lips, want to kiss them!
2) If I were KStew, I'd also read for the part of Lois Lane. Henry Cavill is TOO HOT to pass up.
3) Halle Berry needs to lighten up. That little girl is going to need her father and unfortunately for Halle, she can't lie about him too much- there are too many magazines documenting their relationship.
As a person raised by foreign parents who themselves endured a LOT worse punishment, I got the belt, wooden spoon, timeouts, spanked as punishment and I think people need to relax. Discipline can't be about rainbows. kisses and hugs.
We don't know what led up to this punishment, and while some might find it too brutal, others (including myself) don't.
We're so quick to cry foul and point fingers without getting the whole story. If this lady really IS a violent and abusive mother, the justice system will handle her now that this has been made public, and give her kids a proper home... or at least, one can only hope.
I will watch this. Not only because James Franco is stunning, but because the Oscar's ceremony give me more time to look at him on my typically boring Sundays....
@Natey: It wasn't necessarily that I couldn't have hit that earlier, it was more so an issue of hitting that when he's so young. 21 is a good age! He's young, ripe and capable of drinking without making me feel like an old lady because I'd have to be the one to buy it for him.
This man is very disturbed (obviously). I only hope that he gets his day in court and lives a long, long life reliving his despicable choices in his own disturbed mind.
That would be the justice these two innocent, trusting and unfortunate women deserve.
@WantToTouchtheWahine: My boyfriend (who also didn't watch Lost) once told me that I sounded like a "Star Trek nerd on acid, losing my grip on reality" after hearing my explanation of the show.
Looking back on it, that was probably an accurate description, considering I couldn't get through my explanation without including about 900 million of my own theories that never actually tied together.
I know that calling the island "purgatory" or limbo or whatever seems like a cop out, but after reading up about it, it seems like it is a huge possibility. I haven't figured out what the sideways (or real ways?) universe may have been, but the fact that this is bringing about so many conversations proves that, pissed of or not, we haven't been let down at all by the finale.
And seriously, if you have been watching this show for 6 years and are MAD/ANNOYED with the ending, you obviously forgot what you were doing here in the first place. LOST has fucked our minds for so long, to expect
"real" answers because it's the end is INSANE. We have dealt with polar bears, smoke monsters, hatches, electromagnetism and time travel (we even ACTIVELY talk about sideways timelines with acceptance), so what else did we expect?
I 'm just happy I got to go along for this wacky, nonsensical(?) ride, and already put the collection set on my birthday list because I just need it. It's imperative!
