For some reason it makes me really uncomfortable when people have a stated preference for anyone's grooming "down there" beyond relatively clean. It creeps me out - regardless of what they favour. In my 9relatively sheltered) mind, if you are lucky enough to get consensual access to someone else's junk, don't judge it, just enjoy!
I think you captured pretty much exactly what I feel. And sometimes I get frustrated because me actual friends wouldn't not tell me the reason for their separation. We'd have wine or beer and all the details. So it becomes weird, because they have to fence of parts of themselves, and have every right to, but I want to know...

I don't even get how being gay is a sin. Having gay sex, I get that (though I disagree). Hell, some religions think having or enjoying straight sex is sinful so I can totally understand that gay sex is like extra sinny. But being attracted to the same sex is just how God made you, right?
You have a point, but somebody who knows about dance and fitness (like Beyonce) is a bit different than reading, in my mind. Reflecting a bit I am comfortable with experts in their field, be they experts in dance or theatre or whatever coming in and sharing that expertise with kids. But really - reading a book? I think most teachers actually do that pretty damn well.
I don't want Sasha grey reading to my kids in school, but I don't think this makes me some Maude Flanders. I want teachers and parents and community volunteers in the class, and that's about it. I accept that politicians have a place - it is a democracy and these are public schools - but not celebrities. This seems to be a way of using the children for marketing and getting your brand out there, not the school's role in my mind.
Supporting women's choices means that I support her right to choose to have this baby. It does not free her from criticism for her choices, and honestly, I think they are behaving completely selfishly here. The chances of a severely disabled child are very very good, and there are 19 other lives to consider. But no, they are the poster children for this religion and having more babies keeps the cheques rolling in.
Good point on the edit. I am not American and so I try not to follow US politics too closely (it makes me ragey) so I don't know what his actual policy is. His statements in the article however I agree with.
I personally believe that life begins at conception and would never have an abortion. However, I don't really have any say over what you believe or your uterus. Nor should I - having been pregnant I know how much it is asking for a woman to carry a wanted baby to term, and have no right to tell other women that they should go through that for a child they don't even want.

The unfortunate thing is, you can struggle with infertility at any age, even if you've been pregnant before. I know a couple planning to have a baby next year and it has simply not crossed their minds that she might not get pregnant right away. She's 30 and all the press is about how fertility declines as we get OLD, and no acknowledgement of the fact that women cna struggle to get pregnant in their 20s too.
I buy my children junk food, but pretty much never because they nag me. Sometimes I just want to avoid a fight, sometimes I want to give them a treat, sometimes it is a special occasion and sometimes because ultimately I think that occasionally and in moderation most junk food isn't that bad. The people I know who were raised without any access to sugar and junk go out of control as teenagers and don't actually have better diets as adults. I'm trying to teach my children about moderation. Possibly unsuccessfully.
Awesome! My biggest beef with Pixar is how male centric the films are. Excellent films, but only with women in supporting roles and usually outnumbered 3:1. I'm really happy to see that change potentially.

Two of the wives used to work. Now I suspect they get upwards of $100,000 per episode like most of these "stars" seem to (Jon and Kate, teen moms...). I think you can pay for college in that salary range.
Really? That's not a fair comparison. There are a few religions that dictate that men and women should have little or no physical contact with the opposite sex, unless it is a member of their family. They should not hug, or hold hands or casually touch, so they definitely should not embrace each other and roll all over a mat with small bits of spandex between them. The religion may be sexist, but he was very respectful about it and did not indicate that she shouldn't be allowed to compete.
But he's Canadian. And here in Canada it isn't an issue. There's no debate on the topic and the legality is not in question. So lots of teenagers (especially boys) have never had any reason to think about it. It simply isn't on the radar.
I can't blame the kid. He is 16. At 16 I would have come down even harder against abortion than he did, along with drugs, and suicide. If he still feels this way in 5 years then let's talk.
I bought one with my first and have used it maybe 10 times, in nursing three children. It really isn't needed, but most moms do like one.
If the real problem was a "media circus" it would not be difficult to impose a rule of one recording device in the room. So take your video or your pictures but one camera and that's it. If you also then limit the number of people in the room (as all hospitals around me do) how crazy can it get?
