@rocktopus: Oh wow. I have a friend that just quit his job in that department. He tracked down relatives and notified them of the deaths. He didn't mind the job but the incompetence/office politics/etc of the department completely ruined it for him. I'll see if he's heard of the doc.
@gingerbug: It's a coastal/suburban sprawl. Very car orientated. Unless your lucky enough to live within walking distance of the beach/main st. your fucked. Also, many people that live near HB will drive to the bars there. I blame the lack of late night reliable public transportation in the Southern California area (I live 15 minutes from HB in Long Beach btw.)
@deathbyoffice: But seriously, to ever seriously discuss the "debate of consent" is ridiculous. Women are women and are human beings. No matter what country.
From what I gathered it was the movie not the series that was getting a reboot. Still sucks though. The movie is campy and fun and I still watch it every time its on one of the movie channels (which is like, every weekend.)
@Weiner: That's what I find so irritating. As a Latina, it just makes me sad that here is "a study" being pushed by a company that can be used to reinforce this tired view of Latina women.
@SemePollo7: Right? I mean, I grew up with my Mom listening to her canciones while cleaning Saturday mornings but that doesn't mean I'm doing the fucking cha cha when I clean my apt just because I'm Latina. I hate cleaning, it sucks and this stereotype just makes me hate it even more, like I'm some failure of a Latina because I hate cleaning and can barely cook.
@Peppermint: THIS. I was born to an undocumented immigrant here in the US. My mother became a legal resident due to having me (although I was definitely unplanned), worked her ass off and made sure I would go to college and contribute to society. The nerve!
This whole topic/right-wing fearmongering hurts me on such a personal level I can't even discuss it rationally.
