Lie and tell me it's just like in that Beerfest movie? Please?

I feel so defeated by this entire situation on Jez, but I wanted to let you know that the one thing I keep hearing over and over from fellow commenters is that you are doing an AWESOME job and people really hope you become an editor eventually.

Thank you so much for making Jezebel a great environment for a teenage girl growing up. You and the rest of the amazing writers here are definitely the crazy/cool aunts I never had. I'm always so surprised with the way people actually talk to me here, instead of talking down to me, even when they find out my age. I'd like to admit, it's somewhat of a dream of mine to be an intern at Jezebel.
Thank you again! And pass along these thank-yous to the rest of the ladies, if you don't mind.

Just wanted to send you lots of support and strength and best wishes (although "best wishes" sounds a trite and Hallmark-y under the circumstances) as you deal with the whole messy legal process. But for what it's worth from an anonymous internet commenter, I applaud your bravery and honesty in writing this and for doing what you're doing.
Also, it was a really well-written piece, although that's not the important thing, obviously!

Thank you for your post this afternoon. That's one perspective about rape that isn't discussed often enough and I'm glad you opened up that dialogue. Sorry about what happened to you.

Thanks! It's easier to do that knowing someone like yourself is making sure the issues are debated and noticed and not ignored in the media!
It will probably do more than reporting one person...!

I can't comment on your recent post (My Sexual Assault Is Not Your Political Issue) because of our firewall and the word "sexual" in the link, however I just wanted to thank you for discussing the issue of reporting rape from such a personal perspective. I actually had a similar, but not nearly as bad, experience when I was vacationing in Eastern Europe in the 90's, and before that a "date rape" experience when I was in high school. Neither of which I reported, and I always told myself that's because they were "exceptional" situations. If you had asked me yesterday, I would have said without reservation that sexual assault should always be reported. But after reading your piece I realize that I've not been very honest with myself all these years. You really made think about my opinion on how women should deal with rape. So, thanks.
