Hi Megan! :)
I read your article on the insanity of conservatives toward same-sex marriage and women's rights too late to comment, but I wanted to thank you for this article! Your analysis of this article was amazing, tho scary (I felt my stomach tightening all the way thru, when i felt i needed to throw up, i would take a break for a while-took several attempts to get to the end). I know you had to have spent a lot of time on your post, and I appreciate it! I read a lot of lesbian sites, and Jezebel generally does a far better job of covering gay-rights issues than most of them do, both in terms of timeliness and depth.
Thanks again!
Carol :)

Megan,
I had a daughter that was stillborn. I came too late to be able to comment on the piece, but I just wanted to let you know that I would not have found the photo upsetting, and although I can't speak for all mothers who have lost babies, the ones that I know are actually pretty comfortable seeing images of dead babies, because we see them all the time on each others blogs, on our mantlepieces, in our photo albums etc.
I, for one, welcome a frank discussion on the issues surrounding stillbirth and neonatal death; especially outside of the US and the UK(where I live) where the lives of so many babies, and crucially mothers, could be saved through the most simple medical checks and procedures.
It's such a shame that the opportunity for valuable discussion wasn't realised here. In my experience, people who would normally consider themselves open and thoughtful really balk at 'dead baby' talk. Often I'm met with disapproval and embarrassment when I bring the topic up.
Thank you for trying.

delete "calling you" from my previous message. I am obviously losing my mind.

Sorry for calling you smearing your lineage with the awful name of "Republican," Megan. I must have been thinking of Moe. But I still disagree with you on your "Taking the Choice Out of Pro-Choice" post. Doctors have the choice not to become a specialist in something that entails procedures they refuse to do.

My comment was way out of line, and I unreservedly apologize for it.

Thanks for your amazing coverage of the elections over the last few months, Megan! Job well done. And I sincerely hope you get to pocket last night's pageviews, because you earned them!

Chuffed to be friended. I wanted to write all you Jezzies (but especially you) a THANK YOU for your amazing political posts. I'm not American, but my boyfriend is, as are many of my friends. I may end up living in the US eventually... The Jezebel coverage has kept me hooked and better informed than anyone else I know here - even the ones watching the AP all day or working for Spiegel On Line. Thank you, thank you, thank you. x

Crap, just got your message re: The Current from a month ago. Love that the producers know of Jezebel; makes me like the program even more. You didn't sound tired, and from what I recall, you brought an interesting, refreshing perspective to the table. I, um, have a terrible memory so I can't remember exactly what it was, but I know nodded vigorously in agreement.
A week or two ago they had a few women on discussing Sarah Palin as a example of a woman who successfully integrated her family and her career. Would have loved your perspective on that one-sided segment.

Without sounding like a fangirl, but I really enjoy your Jezebel posts and I thought today's (about SP) was especially awesome.
