I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I feel sad that all the ex-commenters are having the smart, funny, sexy celebration of safe sex on another blog while Jezebel continues to run pieces about unsafe sex and regret. Isn't anyone there having safe, happy sex? Doesn't anyone make good decisions and want to talk about that for a change?

I enjoy commenting and I didn't want to leave after the whole shitstorm, but it bugs me to no end that the site is now perceived, in the words of one of my journalist friends as "all about hipster girls and their bad sexual choices." What a shame.

there's also such a thing as propriety, discretion, politeness, etc. learn it. live it. and don't read so much into things.

I hope you can find the time to read my response/comment to Jessica in the "The Week That Was" post. My response to Jessica is sincere, although I am sure it will be met with a defensive arrogance by Sm and Jessica and I will be dismissed much in the way that has already occurred.

Oh no!! Anna I so didn't mean for it to come in that way. Oh my goodness! I swear. Jezebel is like the light of my life! I love love love the site. The issues I have with it are really no big deal nor anything that makes it so that I don't want to spend day in and day out there. I am there constantly. On a Sunday night, even.

I love Moe and I love you guys all. Honest. My main issue is with the youngsters that seem to be posting a lot but there's really nothing that can be done about that since I just am kind of being an old lady about it.

That being said, I can totally see why you would think that my comments were just bitching. They were not meant in that way. I love the site. I'm PROUD to be a part of it. I fall into the habit of comparing Gawker and Jezebel because I was on Gawker lurking for years before I posted on Jezebel first.

You do a great job. Really. I love that I'm a part of this site. I love the friends I've made (online and real ones!) and I will be more LOUD about that aspect of it. I tend to be a complainer without regard to what I like about stuff. My hubby tells me the same thing as you...that I tend to focus on the negative.
