I have been going out into the big, bad world. It's a sacrifice, I know. I can't get my word out to more people, and my numbers suffer for that. And yet, there is something to be said for that great big place, waiting just beyond our front doors.

As for Eat Pray Love, I would only add to Meg's analysis that it's also quite unevenly written--somehow the whole section about meditating in India is told in a rather frantic pace. I would credit Gilbert with a few nice moments--I mean, who can't relate to feeling depressed and wanting to just take off? But overall I found the book sort of exhausting, with not much satisfaction in exchange.

I don't know. I mean, if you like narcissism, wrapped in egotism, and tied with vanity, then it's the book for you. I realize it was supposed to be a memoir, but fuck me, she is in love with herself!
