Immortals on the show always seemed to have their swords close at hand, even as they went about the business of their daily lives. Stashing a katana inside an ankle length trench-coat is one thing, but there also seemed to be many cases when the immortal-of-the-week would whip a broadsword out from their sweater-vest or something analogous. My question is whether there were ever cases when filming these creative unsheathings led to injuries, large numbers of multiple takes, or other interesting or amusing anecdotes.

Really interesting. I think you've hit the nail on the head with the idea that the male nudity has to be in circumstances of some sort of action. Richard Dyer wrote an amazing essay awhile back (read it in an undergrad gender studies class but it's pretty jargon-free) called Don't Look Now: The Male Pin-Up, which addresses this exact point. #sex
I read it as an amusing little tongue-in-cheek allegory where clients=viewers, Rossum=Fox, and a simple reminder that the show will be off the air this week but we shouldn't forget about it, because Rossum/Fox is unwilling/ineffectual at recruiting new clients/viewers so we have to step up and recruit our friends to watch when it returns.

@Pieces of Pi: I've done that one, I love it. I ran XC in college then had a long hiatus for health reasons. I was always doggeed by stress fractures in college but Couch to 5K got me from start to end totally injury free.
