You won't get screwed if you're already thinking ahead, which you are. Let me ask my husband if there's a website or book he points people to. Everything I learned, I learned from him...sort of finance knowledge by osmosis (I taught elementary school and used to say that numbers gave me hives). I can say that there absolutely are nice men and women out there working as brokers who know that people need someone to make sense of all the gobbledygook and have no intention of screwing you. But there was a glut of brokers who went into the business in the past ten years who were simply there to get people to sign on the dotted line, whether or not that was the best mortgage for them. It may take a day or two, but I'll get back to you. :)

In the interest of full disclosure, Tracie left that message to me after I told her to piss off when she messaged me about a comment I made on Gawker about her engagement. It was kind of snarky comment, about my experience with holy matrimony as much as anything else and her thin skin-ness, but it was a lot less nasty than many of the other comments made there, so I told her to piss off and leave me alone due to her having contacted me before because I blogged about Drinking and Thinking.

The "bitch, fuck you" is what I got back.

Just so you know and in the interest of fairness to Tracie. The beginning of the exchange was private but then it wasn't.

I'm not so much worried about it hurting, as I am about side affects popping up 20 years down the line. I know that's ridiculous, so I'll probably get the shot in September. I have to go figure out how much it is, curse my lack of health benefits!
