Saw your comment about your current situation. 10 years ago, I felt exactly the same way, compounded by the fact that I had moved to be with him. It took me a long time to realize that he wasn't being empathetic because he was in love with the idea of me, and not the reality of me. Love and a relationship should add to your life, not take away from it.

Read the SVH sagas!! They are honestly some of my fondest reading memories, and I think when I read them, I was too old for them. I do believe I pulled all-nighters to finish, and a book has to be truly engrossing for me to do that.

I totally hear you on seeing ads for, like, Lincoln Tech or DeVry and thinking, "Maybe I should become a medical assistant/HVAC technician/get my CDL and become a trucker...at least I'll have a marketable skill." It's crazy because I HAVE a marketable skill already (I'm an editor) but at least I'd be part of a union or something.

I'd always heard it was either James Taylor or the other guy, who was always either Cat Stevens or Warren Beatty. Warren Beatty makes sense.
