This picture of Britney really got to me. I'm 27 and have been worrying about frown lines, undereye bags and large cheeks that seemed to have appeared overnight. But Britney looks so beautiful, world-weary and wise in this pic. Thanks for posting this, Jez!

This project is disturbing on so many levels.
First, the locals of the Maldives are South Asian people, with black and brown hair. The company expects that its locally hired staff will want to dye their hair blonde to fit in. This can only serve to damage the self esteem of the local women. Why not embrace the beauty of the local women as well, instead of alienating them, or making them feel like they're not good enough?
Secondly, this project, if it goes through, will only further the commonly held stereotypes in South Asian countries of western women. As a South Asian, who has recently been to the subcontinent, I can attest to the unfortunate fact that western women are seen as "easy" and are often depicted as caricatures drawn from Hollywood movies. Why not display some diversity of western women, and open up the eyes of locals too?
