Yeah, I was a little surprised at the tone of that exchange. I once had a long talk with a 19 year old kid who was a guard at Abu-Ghraib. He'd been in the reserves to go to college. The KBR clusterfuck he described rang pretty true to me- I've spent a lifetime working for criminally inefficient organizations. I think McCain's endorsement of Bush worked against that kid's interests, and nullifies whatever sacrifices he made as a young man following orders. But I'm not an authority. I told a friend of mine who's a Navy vet that I think in retrospect the military would have grounded me more. Given me a more adult view of the world. He just laughed and said "It'd have grounded YOU alright"
