I went to a Catholic undergrad, and single sex housing was just part of the deal.
Garvey's reasoning, however, is insane. What's wrong with saying "This helps us to more closely align with the Catholic beliefs upon which we were founded and continue to operate?" Never have expected much in the way of sound reasoning from Garvey though. Sorry CU, this BC Law grad is thrilled you took him off our hands.
This sounds like something Stephon would be talking about on Weekend Update. That would get laughs because of the absurdity. NOT something that should be happening in real life!
I advise some female undergraduates at MIT, and all I know is this: MIT is a shitty place to be a woman. They not only have to work their asses off because of the difficult courseload, they all feel like they have to work harder to prove they belong, all while getting their extracurriculars in and making some time to have a life. I don't envy those women at all. I'm amazed every day that they're able to survive at MIT.
I am a horrible wife. I succeed at five of the "merits," and do five of the "demerits." The only reason I even get the "let's husband sleep in" is because I'm usually still in bed when he gets up. I need to tell my husband he could do much better.
Paying would help, but so would more education. It only takes a few minutes to get on the registry. If you're ever called, you're not obligated to donate, but you'll never know if you can help until you register.
This seems a little over the top, but this not yet pregnant and not trying for a while woman has already thought about her future child's first trip to Disney. Call me brainwashed if you like, but that is one thing I'm definitely looking forward to about having kids. It will cut down on my getting wasted at Epcot days though.
@mova: I'm probably reading way too much into it since I'm analyzing my Howard Stern listening now, but I think that he's an amazing interviewer, and the show is an amazing case study in human interaction.
@kenzington: I listen to Howard and read Jezebel every day. Some of the things he does turn me off, but he's incredibly entertaining to me for the most part.
The comment about Howard Stern joining "her" company just proves that she's delusional. Say what you will about Howard Stern, but clearly Sirius is his company.
There is no fucking way that 73% of the women in my age group enjoy cleaning their house. In the straw poll I just conducted, that percentage is actually zero.
