100% this. I still "Awww. Joan!" her body snark comments, but she would seriously have to stab a puppy with a stiletto manufactured by child slaves out of the skin of murdered refugees for me to dislike her.
Do you watch Fashion Police? Love that shit.
Yeah, I figured as much (couldn't get to the site) but if I were, say the head of the GSA in Wisconsin or whatever, and someone brought to my attention that a leader had a site with (stuff listed), I might want to check it out to make sure it wasn't a preoccupation, know what I mean? GSA does have bigger problems, but there's no harm in making sure that this wouldn't become one. Yeah it's the couple's private site that they do on their own time, but it's also intended for public consumption, so it's not like they're invading their privacy.

Still, this definitely seems like an over reaction. I'm a former wanna-be goth girl and daughter of a Girl Scout troop leader, so I have sympathy for all parties involved. Ultimately, with the info I have, I side with Ms. Hintz.

Honestly: oversharing on the internet and a preoccupation with serial killers? Yeah, it raises a few flags. Dismissal worthy? Probably not, but I wouldn't have blamed the GSA for checking it out...
Right?! Children are so damned entitled. I just can't believe unwillingness to disappear from public view. My heart breaks for those brave frequent fliers who so unjustly don't automatically get to fly in golden seats in their own section.
I should also add: you are fucked if your job is baseball related. As we all know, there is no crying in baseball.
I have cried a handful of times (not bad considering I used to work in a Holocaust museum), but I think all were handled well:

-Giving a presentation on Darfur and talking about rape and unexpectedly bursting into tears. That was the most embarrassing

-Finding out I was pregnant (didn't see it coming!)

-Working until 2 a.m. for four days straight and knowing on that last day I had to wake up at 5 a.m. to be at an event space at 7 a.m. to run an event that started at 9 a.m. and didn't end until 10 p.m. (triggered, incidentally, by trying to get a whole shitton of stuff in my car and my trunk wasn't closing. I flipped the fuck out in the parking garage.)

- Changing departments at my old job... but my boss was crying, too, so it was okay.

Still, I don't think there's anything implicitly against the law about that, is there? The issue here seems more to be that these teams lack appropriate security regarding who the adults in charge are allowing near their players.
Oh Christ. Absolutely. Pretty much all my friends are in advertising and the level to which so many of them have internalized the misogyny and sexism of advert culture is disheartening...
This makes me absolutely sick, and emphasizes why I arch my eyebrow a bit when I hear people say things like "Do you watch Mad Men? It really shows you how bad things were for women back then."

Back then indeed.

In defense of Viagra, etc. ...

Like the pill, it should be covered. While Viagra and its ilk can be (and often are) used recreationally, that doesn't detract from the fact that it is a medication that is pretty essential in the sex lives of many people, men and women.

Deciding some major dog food companies care fuck-all about your pet's nutritional needs and seeking other options? Fine.

Deciding your pet could be a judge on Top Chef and feeding accordingly? You're an idiot.

Not limited to dogs.

"Pigeon, what are you doing, kitty-?... Pigeon! Pigeon, no! Uuuuuuuuugh! Gaaaaaaaaaaah! Grossgrossgrossgrossgross! Blaaaaaaaagh! I can smell it from here already!"

:-( I'm sorry to hear about Kubla Khan. Rest in peace little kitty conqueror!
Putting any animal, including humans, under anesthesia is a risk!
That would be lovely. Though, I will say that it is my understanding, in the case of some breeds with tail docking (not even a significant fraction of occurrence, though), that it can be a safety issue. Basically, due to breed standards, the tails of certain breeds are more prone to breaking because they're so weak and straggly... of course "breed standards" have their own set of issues...
Yeah, I'm going to go ahead an differentiate tearing a kitty's claws out or putting them under specifically to tattoo them and dying a poodle pink. They're not even likely to be too upset by the bath, as they are bred water dogs. That line seems pretty clear and not blurry at all.
To be sure, this dude is sketch and a half...
Indeed. It actually really sucks for him and has led to some really awful shit. :-(
I get that ("just about") but it seems like just as big a deal is being made of those he asked for as those he did not by law enforcement, and that strikes me as kind of odd. I'm not defending this guy in any way!
