EEK. Sort of in regards to the Reddit post... I was checking the referring URL's to my blog the other day out of vanity and boredom, and I found out that a post I wrote a while ago about Serge Gainsbourg and France Gall is linked to by an Italian site that appears to be a forum for pedophiles (I speak a reasonable amount of Italian, and got the gist). I have no idea what to do about this, but it is giving me the heebie jeebies. #crosstalk
And yet...and yet. You never hear them saying a damned word about the Penis Pumps covered by medicare I see advertised on late night TV all the time...

Oliver Catwell is so the name of my next cat... #crosstalk
I have a friend who named their cat that. I thought it was pretty awesome. Then again, my cat's name is Mr. Catface (due to the fact that he has a face just like a cat). #crosstalk
At least she came prepared. That hat is obviously a piece of flair.
YES. You know, if you go back as an adult and watch MSCL, you will find that Ricky was the only character that was a half decent human being. Fact. #crosstalk
The grand irony is that they're giving stars to people for being tattletales rather than for being clever or informative in their comments. In fact, it seems like that's the only way to get one these days. Surely they will all prove to be an asset to the site... #crosstalk
I don't even think you have to. My Dad's Catholic, but my mother's been an Atheist since she was 5, and I've been one pretty much since birth. My father is in complete denial of this and on the rare occasions when it's come up, he thinks we're not serious. #crosstalk
I think Bob Hoskins has always had a thing for the vampy types. #crosstalk
BLERG. Double post. In place of which I put this. Because it's cheery.
I've been thinking! I know (through my super secret sources), that like, around the time when you stopped getting stars for having a certain amount of followers and we were all given "approval privileges", that they wanted to do a mass-de-starring where almost everyone basically had to start from the beginning. I don't know to what degree they went through with that (I'm pretty bad at keeping up with things). But I have a sneaking suspicion that that's sort of on the same plane as what's going on now, except for some reason it seems they want to get rid of all the *good* commenters. Which I'm guessing is because they want to be one of those sites (pretty much all of them) where no one actually reads the comments. For whatever reason. #crosstalk
I commend you for your openness. I too hate bacon. In fact, I dislike all pork products with the exception of Cuban sandwiches. I hate the smell of it. For the record, since we are coming out with things... I must confess that I do not find Ryan Gosling to be all that attractive. Which apparently, now, is also like hating puppies. Alas.
You Sir, just made my whole day.
Oh my god. I thought it was that's what it was going to be. I had my fingers crossed. Thank you for coming through.
Agreed. What this girl did was horrifying. Absolutely horrifying. But the fact is that she was a 15 year old kid with a history of severe abuse. It's deeply upsetting that our system has no interest in rehabilitation, particularly in cases like this. I can't help but think of the Mary Bell case in England- she committed the murder when she was 11 and released when she was 23, and I don't believe that she's committed any crimes since her release in 1980. It seems their system works a bit better than ours.
I am not going to lie, the idea of Roseanne as president fills me with unabashed glee.
At the same time though, nothing works like a boycott. Susan G. Komen didn't restore funds to PP because they realized magically that it was important to people, or that they suddenly realized that it *didn't* conflict with the new policy they just made up- they did it because THOUSANDS of people said "If you do this, we're not giving you money, we're not participating in your 3 days, and we're not buying anything from anyone who sponsors you". We don't have enough money as individuals to influence things, but as a group we have a say. That's how we got rid of Anita Bryant! Although I forget how the grape thing worked out...
