"Sorry, but oppressed women aren't to be used as political tools by bigots with militarist agendas If we had acknowledged that our enemy is political Islamism and not right or left-wing Americans, we'd have accomplished a lot more by now. If oppressed women weren't used as political tools by partisans on the right and the left, we'd probably all have done a lot more for them by now. But if you want to make partisan comparisons, President Bush has done a lot to combat AIDS in Africa."

"Pamela does know about the Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan and she's linked to their site in one of the many articles she wrote protesting FGM. I agree that the issue of FGM is not due to Islam, but it's also true that feminism has not done much to stop that 'cultural practice' in the Middle East or Africa. There is a fair amount of evidence that shows that the political movement, Islamism, is a direct attack against the philosophies of feminism."
