A little behind on the kid-naming party, having only read it this morning, so I thought I'd ask you directly. One sentence really struck me,

"I always figured I would do like my own parents and raise my kids in a shit-poor country for a few years to try and instill in them a suitable amount of white guilt at an early age"

Does that mean you assume you'll have white children?

I ask not to be critical, but rather because it sounds just like something I'd say--that even though I've dated interracially at least as much as I've dated intraracially, I still go around imagining (without thinking about it) that my future will be all-white. Of course when I DO stop and think about it, that's not what I think at all, and I get all, oh little interracial bebes are obviously the cutest... But "all-white" remains my default, despite my best intentions, freaks me out a bit.

But maybe I'm misunderstanding your post?

Were you being serious about Yard Beer being good in this morning's CH or was my sarcasm detector working?

I'm all for joking around, but the evolution of the MAGHAG thread was ridiculous today. This is a wonderful and diverse site! However I would REALLY hate for that to be one of the initial impressions someone had of Jez. Maybe that's just the nature of the beast and I'm out of sync, if so my apologies. Have a good evening.
